Vice President C P Radhakrishnan has urged countrymen to strengthen their commitment to environmental conservation, sustainable living, and the protection of biodiversity on the occasion of World Environment Day. In a social media post, Mr Radhakrishnan said that India’s civilisational wisdom has long taught its citizens to live in harmony with nature. The Vice President quoted a message from Tamil literature, Thirukkural, which advises sharing resources judiciously and protecting all living beings. He said that it reminds us that sustainability and compassion towards all forms of life are fundamental duties. The Vice President advised every citizen to work together to build a greener, healthier, and more prosperous future for generations to come.
Minister of State for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Kirti Vardhan Singh has urged everyone to pledge for a Green India, embracing Mission LiFE – Lifestyle for Environment. In a social media post, he encouraged all to plant a tree this Environment Day in the names of mothers, paying a tribute to both mother and Mother Earth. He noted that India has shown the world that development and environmental protection go hand in hand. Mr Singh said that with collective efforts, a greener India and a healthier planet can be made.
