Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan, Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid tributes to Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan on his death anniversary.
Vice-President Radhakrishnan paid homage to the Bharat Ratna Jayaprakash Narayan at Up-Rashtrapati Bhavan. He recalled his contributions to the freedom struggle, the Quit India Movement, the Bhoodan and Sarvodaya movements, and his call for ‘Sampoorna Kranti’. He said Jayaprakash Narayan’s commitment to social justice, people’s empowerment and democratic values continues to inspire generations.
Home Minister Amit Shah said Jayaprakash Narayan fearlessly raised his voice against the Emergency and stood for the protection of democracy. He said his call for ‘Total Revolution’ and his life philosophy remain a source of inspiration.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said Jayaprakash Narayan’s life was dedicated to democracy, public participation and social change. He highlighted his role in the freedom struggle, the Bhoodan Movement and his efforts to protect democratic rights and civil liberties during the Emergency.
