Vice President C P Radhakrishnan has said that India is passing through a transformational phase called Amrit Kaal, where the energy, innovation and hard work of the youth will shape the dream of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Writing an article in an English daily, the Vice President highlighted the country’s achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, women empowerment and technology.
Mr Radhakrishnan urged the younger generation to take responsibility for nation-building through determination, discipline and collective effort. He noted that over the past decade, India has been functioning with tremendous vision and determination and the country’s economy is growing strongly amid slowdown and uncertainties prevailing across the globe.
Highlighting the role of women in nation-building, the Vice President said that women have come forward in every field, including agriculture, education, medicine, science or space technology, with more than 3 crore women becoming Lakhpati Didis and Namo Drone Didis.
He underlined that just as the thirst for freedom existed in the heart of every freedom fighter, the thought of the nation’s development should now grow in the minds of today’s youth.
The Vice President noted that through bold policy decisions and the upholding of law, peace has prevailed in the nation, and the doors of development have been opened to the challenges of terrorism and insurgency and Left-Wing Extremism.
He further added that India is also advancing toward world-class infrastructure with railway electrification, extension of road connectivity, poverty alleviation and implementation of health schemes like Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
