Vice President C P Radhakrishnan today paid tribute to Maveeran Ondiveeran on his death anniversary. In a social media post, Mr Radhakrishnan recalled his valour and sacrifice in the struggle against colonial rule.
The Vice President noted that Maveeran Ondiveeran, a trusted commander in the army of the legendary Puli Thevar, displayed exceptional courage in resisting the forces of the East India Company.
The Vice President said that his bravery, patriotism and spirit of sacrifice remain an enduring chapter in India’s history of resistance to foreign domination. Mr Radhakrishnan said that Ondiveeran’s heroic legacy will continue to inspire generations to uphold the values of courage, sacrifice and national pride.
