Vice President C P Radhakrishnan has congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming the country’s longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister.
In a social media post, the Vice President said that this historic milestone is not merely a measure of time in office but a reflection of a transformative era in the national development journey. He noted that India has witnessed remarkable progress under the visionary leadership of PM Modi across every sphere, from economic growth and infrastructure expansion to social empowerment and technological advancement, and from enhanced global stature to a renaissance of India’s civilisational consciousness.
Mr Radhakrishnan added that as Abraham Lincoln liberated millions from the bondage of slavery in recent times, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has liberated over 25 crore people from the grip of absolute poverty through inclusive development, bringing hope, opportunity, and dignity to millions of families.
The Vice President underlined that PM Modi instilled among the citizens a renewed confidence by celebrating India’s rich heritage, honouring forgotten heroes, preserving cultural traditions, shedding the colonial mindset, and strengthening pride in our civilisational identity.
Further, he said that PM Modi’s invocation of the immortal words of the great Tamil sage Kaniyan Poongundranar -Yaadhum Oore, Yaavarum Kelir (“Every place is our home; everyone is our kin”) at the United Nations eloquently reaffirmed India’s civilisational ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and message of universal brotherhood and human unity to the world.
Mr Radhakrishnan noted that initiatives such as the Kashi Tamil Sangamam and Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam, the installation of the sacred Sengol in the new Parliament building, and the repatriation of invaluable artefacts and antiquities from abroad have reaffirmed the country’s timeless heritage and the rich tapestry of our languages, cultures, traditions, and civilisational legacy.
Mr Radhakrishan asserted that PM Modi has rekindled confidence in the nation’s capabilities and aspirations through his visionary leadership, tireless service, and unwavering. He said that as the nation marches towards the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047, PM Modi’s leadership stands as a source of inspiration for millions and a guiding force in the nation’s onward journey. The Vice President conveyed his best wishes to Prime Minister Modi for his continued service to the nation.
