A series of celebrations are being organised in Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of his birthday. BJP workers are organising blood donation camps, launching cleanliness drives and distributing fruits and sweets among the general public.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed a special ritual and offered prayers to Baba Vishwanath in Varanasi. They were accompanied by Telugu Desam Party leader and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Lok Janshakti Party leader and Union Minister Chirag Paswan, and state BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary.
Everyone offered their respects by performing Jalabhishek and Aarti in the temple. The leaders wished for the Prime Minister’s long and glorious life as well as prosperity for the country and the state. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that they prayed for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s long life and good health and for India to achieve its goal of a developed India.
Mr Naidu said that the whole country is praying today for the well-being of Prime Minister.
The leaders also interacted with bikers participating in the Seva Sankalp Yatra from Varanasi to Vadnagar and honoured the sanitation workers serving at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Thereafter, everyone distributed sweets to devotees within the temple premises. Four laddus weighing 19 kg each (76 kg) were prepared for this purpose.
Later, the leaders launched a bike rally at Rudraksha Convention Centre in Varanasi. The aim of the rally is to connect the spiritual and cultural traditions of Kashi with Vadnagar in Gujarat, and to convey the message of reverence and respect for the country’s diverse rivers, pilgrimage traditions, and cultural heritage to the people. A volunteer of the bike rally from Varanasi to Vadnagar spoke to Aakashvani News. He said that throughout the journey he will meet people and tell them about the various schemes launched by the Narendra Modi government.
