Uttarakhand: Most parts of state got respite from incessant rains; MET departments predict heavy rains in some parts of Chardham Yatra route

In Uttarakhand, most parts of the state have got respite from the incessant rains for the last three days. The state has earlier been witnessing incessant rains for the last few days which led to landslides, road blocks, water logging and traffic disruptions and affected the normal life in hills and plains. Efforts to restore roads damaged by landslides continued on a war footing as the weather remained clear in the plains and hilly areas of the state.

In the flood-affected district of Haridwar, the administration is providing relief materials to needy people. It may be recalled that the people affected by flood and waterlogging in low laying areas Laksar and Mangalore of Haridwar district have been shifted to safer places.

According to the State Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places in the state during the next three days. The department has also issued a forecast of heavy rains in some parts of the Chardham Yatra route.
