In Uttar Pradesh, 77th Independence Day is being celebrated with gaiety and patriotic spirit. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hoisted the tri-colour at the main function held in Lucknow. 

In his speech on the occasion, he said it is our duty to remember the sacrifice of freedom fighters who gave up everything to secure the nation's Independence. He said the country is celebrating the Day through the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said the Prime Minister has connected every citizen through 'Panch Pran' the five oaths for the country. He also administered five oaths to the people present at the function.
 
The Chief Minister also felicitated brave soldiers and their families. Many cultural programmes on the theme of Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat Mera Mati Mera Desh were organised at the event.
