US State Secretary extends greetings to people of India on Independence Day

 
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio extended congratulations to the people of India on Independence Day. In his message, Mr Rubio said that the India-US relationship continues to grow and is stronger than ever, thanks to the personal relationship between US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He added that bilateral collaboration is making both of nations, and the broader Indian Ocean region, safer, stronger, and more prosperous. He further stated that the deep ties of friendship and family between people from both countries form the foundation of a partnership that is innovative, resilient, and forward-looking. He said the US looks forward to the future the two countries will build together.
 
External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar thanked Secretary Rubio for his warm wishes. Dr Jaishankar also expressed gratitude to his counterparts from Australia, Slovakia, Cyprus, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Singapore for their Independence Day wishes.
