US President Trump rejects reports claiming proposed deal with Iran does not address nuclear issues

US President Donald Trump has rejected media reports claiming that his proposed deal with Iran does not address nuclear issues.

In a social media post, Trump said the agreement clearly states that Iran will not be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon and includes detailed provisions related to nuclear activities.

According to media reports, Trump wants stricter commitments from Iran, stronger language on reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and limits on financial benefits for Tehran.

Trump also said the US would take control of and destroy Iran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium. However, Iran has stated that details of its nuclear programme are not currently being discussed and insists that any agreement must include financial provisions.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Tehran will not approve any deal unless Iran’s rights are protected. Meanwhile, US Senator Chris Coons said Trump’s proposed terms seem reasonable but could be difficult to implement, especially regarding the Strait of Hormuz. Due to this, negotiations are continuing, and key differences between the two sides remain unresolved.
