US Open: Elena Rybakina defeat Coco Gauff in second semifinal in New York

In US Open Tennis, second seed Elena Rybakina defeated fourth-seeded Coco Gauff in the second semifinal in New York to set up Women’s Singles title clash with defending champion Aryna Sabalenka and stay on course for a third Grand Slam crown.
 
Rybakina from Kazakhstan came from a set down to beat American, Gauff 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 in a match lasting two hours and eight minutes at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Top seed Belarusian Sabalenka booked her place in the final with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over third seed American Jessica Pegula in the first semifinal. 
 
Rybakina and Sabalenka have met 17 times, with Sabalenka leading their head-to-head record 10-7. In Grand Slam finals, the two have also faced each other at the Australian Open, with Rybakina winning in 2026 and Sabalenka claiming the title in 2023.
 
In Women’s doubles, Czech-American pair Kateřina Siniaková and Taylor Townsend will face American duo Robin Montgomery and Ashlyn Krueger in the final tonight.
 
In Men’s singles, Top seed Alexander Zverev of Germany will face unseeded Russian player Karen Khachanov in first semi-final later tonight. In the other last four match, eight seed Ben Shelton will take on 11th-seeded Frances Tiafoe in an All-American clash.
