The American forces carried out a new round of strikes on Iran, marking the seventh consecutive night of attacks following the collapse of peace deal between both the sides.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a social media post that the strikes were designed to continue degrading Iranian military capabilities at its Commander in Chief’s direction. Iranian media reported that multiple explosions were heard in the southern port cities of Bandar Abbas and Sirik last night, shortly after the US military began its airstrikes. The CENTCOM also denied claims made by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) that two oil tankers have exploded in the Strait of Hormuz after hitting mines in the international waterway.
On the other hand, Iran said its drones targeted US military facilities in Jordan and Kuwait as part of an operation against American positions in the region. Confirming the attack, Kuwait’s military said its air defenses were responding to hostile drone attacks following what it described as Iranian aggression. Kuwait’s General Staff of the Army said any sounds of explosions heard were the result of air defense systems intercepting the attacks.
