In Uttar Pradesh, the flood situation is improving steadily in other parts while in Varanasi the level of Ganga River is rising and the Ghats are now submerged in the flood water. The district administration is keeping extra vigil around the ghats and the teams of NDRF and water police have been alerted.
 
The administration has prohibited the boats to go into the river and the point of famous Ganga Aarti has also been changed. On the coming Monday, devotees will not be allowed to enter into Kashi Vishwanath from the river side.
 
As per the Central Water Commission the major rivers Ganga, Yamuna, Ghagara and Sharda are still flowing above the danger mark at many places in state.
