Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the success of the UP-Japan Partnership will not be measured solely in terms of billions of rupees in investment. Its ultimate success will be reflected in millions of jobs, new technologies, global products, and shared prosperity for generations to come. While addressing the UP-Japan Investment Meet 2026 in Lucknow, CM Yogi highlighted that Japan possesses an extraordinary legacy of industrial excellence, while Uttar Pradesh has a young and energetic workforce fully prepared to learn, create, and lead.
He said that the goal is for the state’s youth to acquire skills and a work culture that are in demand globally, including in Tokyo.
CM Yogi added that Uttar Pradesh is rapidly growing with the development of expressways, airports, and modern transport infrastructure. He mentioned that a robust ecosystem is being developed in Noida and Greater Noida for the establishment of Global Capability Centers. He invited Japanese companies to invest and set up businesses in the state. He highlighted that multimodal logistics hubs, integrated manufacturing and logistics clusters, industrial parks, and improved connectivity have also been identified as important areas for investment in Uttar Pradesh.
CM Yogi announced that a dedicated Yamanashi Desk will be established at Invest UP, which will continuously coordinate with the Yamanashi government, local industries, and investors. He added that both sides will coordinate and review all information related to investment projects, industry requirements, approvals, and challenges every 90 days, ensuring that there are no gaps at any level. This will accelerate the entire process from MoU implementation to actual investment.
CM Yogi thanked the Governor of Yamanashi for announcing a ₹600 crore fund for Yamanashi’s MSME companies to invest in Uttar Pradesh. Yogi said that this is an important testament to the growing confidence of Japanese industries in the state. He added that Japanese representatives praised Uttar Pradesh’s policy reforms and ease of doing business.
In particular, seamless approvals, a simplified land allotment process, and reduced compliance requirements have been cited as positive changes.
Earlier, during the sectoral session on the “UP-Japan Healthcare and Care Economy Partnership,” Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak stated that a major healthcare and care economy model could be created by combining the capabilities of Japan and India.
In addition, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Yamanashi Prefectural Assembly of Japan and the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly to promote friendly exchanges. The MoU was signed by Satish Mahana, Speaker of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, and Hidenori Miyamoto, Chairman of the Yamanashi Prefectural Assembly.
The agreement aims to encourage regular dialogue, mutual understanding, and the exchange of experiences between the two legislatures.
