UP: Free medical treatment up to 5 lakh and increase in DA for Provincial Armed Guards announced

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced that Provincial Armed Guard (PRD) personnel and their families will get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh annually and also have their daily duty allowance increased. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who had increased the duty allowance three times during his tenure, announced the fourth increase at the PRD personnel conference in Gorakhpur and said PRD personnel will now receive a daily duty allowance of rupees 600 instead of rupees 500.

At the PRD personnel conference organized at Yogiraj Baba Gambhirnath Auditorium today, CM Yogi distributed cashless medical facility cards to PRD volunteers and launched the ‘Mukhyamantri PRD Cashless Chikitsa Yojana’. He also laid the foundation stone, by pressing a button on the remote, for the multi-story PRD barracks to be constructed in Lucknow at a cost of around rupees 23 crore.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister made a new announcement for PRD personnel. The Chief Minister said that PRD volunteers, established in 1948, received a daily duty allowance of rupees 250 until 2019. In 2019, he increased it to rupees 375, and in 2022, it was increased to rupees 395. The allowance was increased again in 2025 and raised to rupees 500 per day.
