In the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer will continue his term as Labour Party member of Parliament for Holborn and St Pancras in London. A Downing Street spokesperson yesterday informed this as his tenure as British Prime Minister will conclude in the coming weeks.
Starmer is currently serving in the role of caretaker Prime Minister after he announced his resignation as Labour leader, triggering the process for his colleagues to elect a new party chief who will go on to replace him at 10, Downing Street.
Starmer is said to have held his first meeting with Andy Burnham, the newly elected MP for Makerfield and frontrunner for the top job after pledging an “orderly handover of power” in his resignation speech on Monday.
