In Keralam, Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Tourism, Suresh Gopi, inaugurated the PM-Kisan Utsav Diwas event organized by the ICAR-CTCRI in Thiruvananthapuram today. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that PM-Kisan is the world’s largest scheme providing direct financial assistance to the farmers.

Under the programme envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, farmers receive financial assistance directly in their bank accounts without any intermediaries, the Minister said. He added that the Union Government has implemented several initiatives in the agricultural sector to strengthen farmer welfare and enhance agricultural productivity. The programme was held in connection with the release of the 23rd instalment of PM-Kisan Scheme by the Prime Minister in West Bengal today.
