In a major stride toward self-reliance in telecom equipment production, the Union Ministry of Communications and the Government of Madhya Pradesh convened an Investors’ Roundtable in Bengaluru to attract domestic and global investments for the upcoming Telecom Manufacturing Zone (TMZ) in Gwalior. Addressing the media following the event in Bengaluru, Union Minister of Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav underscored the strategic vision behind Asia’s first dedicated telecom industrial hub.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia stated that leading telecom, electronics, and technology companies have shown enthusiastic interest in setting up manufacturing bases in Gwalior. He noted that the initiative directly aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mission to transform India from a services-orientated market into a global product and manufacturing leader under the “Make in India, Make for the World” vision.

He further said, that our focus is to partner with the private sector to move India from a services-led economy to a product manufacturing powerhouse, fostering domestic innovation, R&D, and large-scale telecom production. 

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav described the Gwalior TMZ as a pioneering model designed to accelerate regional industrial growth. He highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s competitive advantages, including land allotment at a nominal rate of just one rupee, uninterrupted 24-hour power supply, an abundant land bank, and superior multimodal connectivity to the National Capital Region. Dr. Yadav reiterated that the initiative would generate massive employment for skilled youth and establish the state as a premier high-tech industrial hub.
