In Chennai, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Dr L Murugan today distributed appointment letters to 285 newly recruited candidates selected for various Central Government Ministries, Departments, and organisations.
Speaking during the event, the Minister said that the newly recruited youth entering Government service would play an important role in achieving the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047. He urged the recruits to view their responsibilities not merely as securing employment, but as an opportunity to serve the nation and contribute to its holistic development.
Mr Murugan emphasised that honesty, accountability, empathy, and a humane approach towards the public should remain integral to public service. Dr Murugan noted that the unemployment rate has declined from 6 per cent to 3.2 percent as a result of various initiatives undertaken by the Government. He also pointed out that the number of startups in the country has risen from 400 in 2014 to more than 2.5 lakh, noting that a significant number of startup founders are youth below the age of 30.
The Minister added that more than 12.75 lakh appointment letters have been distributed through Rozgar Melas so far, reflecting the Government’s dedicated emphasis on creating employment opportunities for the youth.
