Union Minister Kiren Rijiju says India remains safest and most inclusive home for minorities

 
 Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju has said that India remains one of the safest and most inclusive home for minorities. He said this while addressing the Conference of State Minorities Commissions, organised in New Delhi today. Mr Rijiju said, when we look at neighboring countries in the Indian subcontinent, we often see minority communities facing existential challenges and seeking refuge in India. He said, from Afghanistan to Sri Lanka, minorities from across the region have looked towards India as a place of shelter, security and dignity.
 
The Minister called upon the State Minorities Commissions to play a proactive role in addressing the issues and grievances of minority communities. . Mr Rijiju said that Narendra Modi government is working with the vision of welfare and development of every citizen of the country. He said, the Schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram and (PMJVK) and Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan (PM VIKAS) are being implemented by the Ministry of Minority Affairs effectively. He reiterated the Central government’s support to the State Minorities Commissions to work towards the welfare of minorities.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs George Kurian highlighted the various schemes being implemented by the Central government for the development and employment of Minority communities. He said, PMJVK has helped reduce infrastructure gaps in minority-concentrated areas, while PM VIKAS has strengthened skill development and training opportunities. He urged the States to make full use of these schemes and move forward together towards inclusive progress. The  Conference which organised by National Commission for Minorities was attended by   concerned Ministers from Telangana, Bihar , Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand and the Chairpersons  and members of the   State Minorities Commissions.
