Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh calls for continuous improvement in pension administration

Minister for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Dr Jitendra Singh today said that pension administration must continuously learn from the experiences and difficulties faced by pensioners and work towards removing shortcomings in the existing system.

Addressing the 17th All India Pension Adalat in New Delhi, the Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring Ease of Life and Pensioners’ Welfare, stressing that technology and digital interventions must ultimately translate into simpler and more accessible services for pensioners and their families.

Dr Singh highlighted the growing use of digital technology in pension-related services and said that efforts are being made to make processes simpler through digital identity and face-recognition based mechanisms.  He said that the objective of pension reforms is not merely technological advancement but ensuring that the benefits of reforms reach the last mile and make a tangible difference to pensioners.

The 17th Pension Adalat took up 897 grievances out of which 756 were redressed, registering a redressal rate of 84.2 per cent. The remaining cases are being pursued for redressal in the coming days.
