Union Minister Jitendra Singh Launches AI-Enabled CPGRAMS Voice Chatbot ‘SAMADHAN DIDI’

The Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Dr Jitendra Singh, today launched the AI-enabled CPGRAMS Voice Chatbot, SAMADHAN DIDI, in New Delhi. Developed by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances in collaboration with Bhashini, the chatbot enables citizens to register public grievances through an interactive conversational interface.

Addressing the media, Dr Jitendra Singh described SAMADHAN DIDI as a significant step towards the democratisation of the Government’s grievance redressal mechanism. He highlighted that SAMADHAN DIDI currently supports all 22 scheduled Indian languages, and efforts are underway to incorporate additional regional and local languages. He emphasised that India’s linguistic diversity requires governance platforms to be accessible in languages that citizens are most comfortable using, thereby ensuring wider participation and inclusivity.

The Minister noted that the number of public grievances registered annually has increased from around two lakh before 2014 to nearly 25 to 30 lakh today. He attributed this rise to improved responsiveness, adherence to timelines, and greater public confidence in the system. He also added that several countries, including the Maldives, Mauritius and nations in Africa, have shown interest in studying India’s grievance redressal model.

SAMADHAN DIDI is a voice-based, multilingual grievance registration assistant with intelligent AI-based categorisation that helps citizens connect with the appropriate department or authority quickly and efficiently. Citizens can register grievances through voice or text in multiple Indian languages, making grievance redressal faster, smarter, and more accessible. Based on the inputs, the Chatbot will analyse the grievance and assign a category, thereby doing away with the requirement for citizens to manually select the concerned Ministry or Department and grievance category.
