Union Minister Jitendra Singh Highlights AI Potential to Boost Agriculture Economy

Science and Technology Minister Dr Jitendra Singh today said that Artificial Intelligence intervention holds promise of multifold increase in country’s agricultural economy. He added, according to one estimates, AI-driven optimisation alone can help each farmer save nearly five thousand rupees annually, creating an estimated seventy thousand crore rupees value addition for the overall agricultural economy. Addressing the 17th Agriculture Leadership Conclave 2026 in New Delhi, Dr Singh said that Agri-Startups are the defining force of India’s agricultural future.


The Minister highlighted that agriculture today demands close collaboration among government, industry, research institutions, startups and farmers to ensure that innovation reaches the field and translates into economic gains. He emphasised that India must continuously adapt to new scientific developments in order to remain globally competitive and ensure long-term food and nutritional security.
