Union Health and Chemicals and Fertilzers Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda administered the National Unity Day pledge to officials of both Ministries at a ceremony held in New Delhi.
The observance commemorated the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and provided an occasion to renew the commitment to the ideals of unity, integrity and national cohesion. The pledge-taking ceremony reaffirmed the collective commitment of officers and officials to upholding the unity, integrity and security of the nation.
National Unity Day, or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, is observed every year on 31 October to honour the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and reiterate the importance of national unity and solidarity.
