Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal today launched the BHAVYA Portal to accelerate the development of 100 Industrial Parks across the country. Addressing the gathering in New Delhi, Mr Goyal said the Portal is aimed at creating integrated industrial ecosystems with multimodal connectivity, reliable utility systems, digital governance mechanisms, worker-support infrastructure, and sustainable development features.
He noted that the initiative represents a transformational tool for strengthening India’s manufacturing ecosystem through the creation of investment-ready industrial infrastructure. He added that the portal will also enhance transparency, efficiency, and ease of participation for States.
Highlighting the flexibility of the scheme, the Minister said industrial parks under BHAVYA will be developed according to regional requirements and industrial suitability. He said the parks will range from smaller clusters in hilly and North Eastern regions to large industrial zones near major urban centres.
Mr Goyal added that the government is also focusing on plug-and-play infrastructure, faster clearances, logistics efficiency, social infrastructure and dedicated spaces for startups, deep-tech and innovation-driven enterprises.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary, DPIIT, Amardeep Singh Bhatia said that robust digital systems are essential for effective programme management. He emphasised that the portal will serve as a single digital interface across all stages of project submission, evaluation, monitoring, and reporting.
Approved by the Union Cabinet with an outlay of 33 thousand 660 crore rupees, BHAVYA serves as the flagship programme for the development of 100 investment-ready, world-class industrial parks over a period of six years.
