Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar will chair the 5th meeting of the National Council for Senior Citizens in New Delhi today. During the meeting, the council will deliberate upon key issues concerning the welfare of senior citizens.

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment said that the deliberations are expected to further strengthen inter-ministerial convergence and reinforce the Government’s commitment towards ensuring a life of dignity, security, participation and well-being for senior citizens. During the event, an e-book, SNEHA – Stories of Nurturing, Engagement, Happiness and Active Ageing, will also be launched. The e-book will showcase major events, initiatives and achievements of the Senior Citizen Division from October 2024 to June 2026.
