Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh urges states to actively adopt centre’s governance reforms to accelerate Viksit Bharat 2047 vision

Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh has called upon State Governments to actively adopt the Centre’s governance platforms, administrative reforms and citizen-centric service delivery models to accelerate the journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047.

He stated this while addressing a press conference in New Delhi today on the achievements of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions over the last 12 years. Dr Singh said initiatives such as Mission Karmayogi, CPGRAMS, Digital Life Certificate and other technology-driven governance systems have transformed public administration by improving transparency, accountability and efficiency. He said these reforms have strengthened citizen trust and are increasingly being studied internationally as successful governance models.

The Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, governance reforms have evolved from administrative measures into instruments of social and economic transformation. He noted that grievance redressal has become faster and more effective, with the average disposal time under CPGRAMS reducing from 157 days to just 13 days.

Highlighting civil service reforms, Dr Singh said Mission Karmayogi has fundamentally changed capacity building in government by promoting role-based and competency-driven governance. He added that the iGOT Karmayogi platform now has over 1.65 crore registered users and nearly 13 crore course completions.

The Minister also highlighted key governance reforms introduced over the past decade, including self-attestation of documents, abolition of interviews for certain government posts, technology-enabled recruitment systems and measures to ensure greater transparency and merit-based selection.

He said more than 12 lakh appointment letters have been distributed through the National Rozgar Mela since October 2022. On pension reforms, Dr Jitendra Singh said the Digital Life Certificate initiative, supported by face-recognition technology, has made pension services more convenient for senior citizens.
