AIIMS, New Delhi, has a special responsibility to guide the next generation of healthcare professionals and mentor other medical institutions across the country. Addressing the 71st Institute Day of AIIMS New Delhi, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel today said that the institution must continuously improve its services and remain responsive to the needs and experiences of patients. 

 

She said AIIMS has earned the trust of millions of people over the years, and maintaining this trust is a shared responsibility of every member of the AIIMS family. The Minister highlighted the expansion of healthcare infrastructure in the country, saying the number of AIIMS has increased in the last decade.

 

Ms Patel highlighted that the government’s focus is on ensuring accessible, affordable and quality healthcare for every citizen and moving towards universal health coverage. The Minister also stressed the need to focus on prevention, early detection and timely treatment of non-communicable and lifestyle diseases. Ms Patel said the trust of crores of people in AIIMS services should be strengthened through continuous research to find solutions to healthcare problems facing the country.
