Union Home Minister Amit Shah is chairing the 28th meeting of the Western Zonal Council in Panaji today. The Council comprises Goa, Gujarat and Maharashtra, along with the Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.

Goa CM Pramod Sawant, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis are among those participating in the meeting. Representatives from Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu are also taking part. Issues of common concern between the Centre and the States are on the agenda, including matters requiring joint action.

After the meeting, Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to attend the function for presentation of the President’s Police Colour to the Goa Police.
