India’s Komal has won a bronze medal in the women’s 59-kilogram category at the Under-23 World Wrestling Championships at Las Vegas in United States. Komal defeated Kazakhstan’s Viktoriia Khusainova 7-2 in the bronze-medal bout to finish third. Earlier, she defeated Canada’s Ella Finding on criteria after a 1-1 draw and overcame Moldova’s Madalina Prisacari 8-3. However, she lost her semifinal bout to Ukraine’s Alina Filipovych by technical superiority.
Another wrestler Amruta Pujari has entered the final of the women’s 72-kilogram category after securing two consecutive victories by pinfall. Amruta will face Ukraine’s Iryna Zablotska in the gold-medal bout. Pujari began her campaign with a pinfall victory over Kazakhstan’s Sabyrzhanova before defeating China’s Wenjin Qiu in the semifinal.
