Two-day BRICS Women Ministerial Meeting begins in Kochi on 8 July

India will host the two-day BRICS Women Ministerial Meeting in Kochi, Keralam, beginning tomorrow.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development said the meeting will bring together ministers from BRICS member countries to strengthen cooperation and advance a shared vision for women-led development under India’s BRICS Chairship. The ministers will deliberate on the proposed outcomes and provide strategic direction for enhancing cooperation among BRICS member countries.

The programme will feature a plenary session and thematic panel discussions involving eminent experts, policymakers and practitioners. The discussions will provide an opportunity to exchange experiences, share innovative approaches and foster partnerships for women’s empowerment.

The Ministerial Meeting follows the BRICS Women Working Group Meeting held on 6 and 7 July, during which senior officials held substantive deliberations on the priority areas under the BRICS Women Track.

The Ministerial Meeting will serve as a platform for high-level dialogue on promoting women’s leadership, expanding economic opportunities, and strengthening digital and financial inclusion.
