Tripura Police have detained eight Bangladeshi nationals near Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala for allegedly entering India illegally. According to Airport Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sushanta Deb, four Bangladeshi nationals were initially detained after they were found moving around the airport premises under suspicious circumstances. During further interrogation, four more Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended yesterday. All eight were produced before the Mohanpur Sub-Divisional Court today. Police said they are being questioned to ascertain the purpose and circumstances of their alleged illegal entry into the country. Further investigation is underway.
