In Tripura, a moderate-intensity earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter Scale hit Khowai district and adjoining areas of Bangladesh this afternoon, the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) said.
 
The NCS said that the moderate intensity tremor occurred at 3.34 pm today.
 
The epicenter of the quake was at a depth of 31 km from the surface at latitude 23.82 and longitude 91.49.
 
Officials from the district administration said there was no immediate report of any casualty or damage to property. However, the quake caused a sort of panic among the people.
