Torrential rains continued to lash several parts of Gujarat today. Heavy rains in Junagadh, Jamnagar, Gir Somnath, Porbandar, Valsad, and Surat districts disrupted normal life and led to water logging in low-lying areas. The state has received an average of 59 percent seasonal rainfall so far. IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in various parts of the state over the week.

Mangrol, a town in Junagadh district received the highest 13 inches of rainfall in the last 24 hours. Umergam, Vapi, Paradi in Valsad districts and Maliya Hatina, Jam Jodhpur, Kitiyana, and Keshodin Saurashtra were among the town that continue to receive heavy showers for two days. Following the heavy rains, many villages and fields in Saurashtra have been submerged in water. Water levels in Dams and rivers continue to rise in the state. Six teams of NDRF have been deployed in the flood-affected districts in Saurashtra.
