In Maharashtra, the third phase of voting for the Lok Sabha elections is underway at 23,036 polling centres. As many as 2.09 crore voters of the state will exercise their franchise to determine the fate of 258 candidates who are in the fray from the 11 seats of Marathwada, western Maharashtra and Konkan in this phase. A total of 46,491 ballot units, 23,036 control units and 23,036 VVPAT machines are put to use.
The seats of Raigad, Baramati, Dharashiv, Latur, Solapur, Madha, Sangli, Satara, Ratangiri-Sindhudurg, Kolhapur and Hatkanangle are witnessing polls today.
With 38 contestants, Baramati has the highest number of candidates, while Ratangiri-Sindhudurg with 9 has the lowest.
