The Ministry of Interior of Thailand has said that Indian tourists holding ordinary passports are exempt from visa requirements and permitted to stay in Thailand not exceeding 30 days. The exemption will be implemented with effect from 15 of this month. The Indian Embassy in Thailand, in a social media post, said visitors must carry a valid passport with at least six months’ validity from the date of arrival. They should also have confirmed return tickets, hotel bookings, and clear travel plans and itineraries. It added that Visitors are required to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card within 72 hours before arrival through the official immigration website. The Embassy also advised travellers to obtain appropriate visas if their visit is for purposes not covered under the visa exemption facility. Tourists availing themselves of the visa exemption facility should carry at least 20 thousand Thai Baht in cash per passenger.
The Embassy advised travellers to keep all required documents readily available while approaching the Immigration counter on arrival. In case of group travel, each member must carry the required documents individually. Travellers who have received a job offer in Thailand have been advised not to use the visa exemption facility. Those transiting through Thailand should also carry all relevant documents and visas, as required, for their final destination.
