Textiles Ministry Secretary holds discussions with European, French textile representatives in Paris

Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles, Neelam Shami Rao, held wide-ranging discussions with leading representatives of the European and French textile, apparel and fashion industries at Le Bourget in Paris.
 
In a social media post, the Ministry of Textiles said that the discussions, which were held yesterday, focused on strengthening the India-France and India-European Union partnerships in the textile sector, leveraging India’s rich textile heritage and globally competitive manufacturing capabilities.
 
The talks also explored opportunities to expand cooperation in areas such as sustainability, circularity, innovation, fashion and high-value textiles. The Ministry noted that both sides expressed strong commitment to deepening industry-to-industry linkages and building resilient, sustainable and future-ready textile value chains.
 
Ms. Rao, along with leading representatives of the Indian textile industry, also visited the Première Vision and Texworld Paris, Europe’s largest professional trade fair dedicated to fabric and garment sourcing. 75 Indian exhibitors showcased the country’s growing capabilities, diversity and strength in the global textile sector at Texworld Paris.
