Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh has called upon new entrepreneurs to step forward and tap into the rapidly growing global demand for technical textiles. Addressing a consultation programme organised by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) in Surat today, Mr Singh described Surat as an emerging economic hub for the country.
The Minister expressed confidence that the textile industry will play a crucial role in realising the vision of a Developed India. He highlighted that government initiatives like the PM MITRA scheme and the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme will drive transformative growth in garmenting and branded textile manufacturing in Surat. He added that these measures will be key to achieving the targeted 350 billion-dollar market size for the Indian textile sector by the year 2030.
