In Telangana, rescue and relief activities gained pace following respite from heavy rains across the State. River Godavari flowing at a dangerous level even today, as heavy inflows continue to reach the river. Several villages have been inundated and flooded. Over 19 thousand people in various districts are taking shelter at relief camps while hundreds of villages remained marooned. Ten NDRF teams are working hard in various districts providing relief and undertaking rescue activities while two teams each are in Nirmal and Kothagudem districts while one team each is in Mulugu, Warangal, Khammam, Bhupalapally, and Hyderabad districts. State Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari directed the district officials to continue intense relief activities for another 24 hours in the rain-affected districts. She said the government is ready to provide all kinds of support for the relief works.
