Telangana hosted the PM GatiShakti and LEADS 2025 Dissemination Workshop for Southern States in Hyderabad, bringing together senior officials from eight southern states and Union Territories to discuss ways to improve logistics efficiency across the region.
The workshop was organised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Government of India, in collaboration with the Commerce and Export Promotion Department of the Telangana Government. This was the first time Telangana hosted the Southern Regional Workshop.
Officials from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep, along with representatives from the industry and logistics sectors, participated in the workshop. Discussions focused on integrated infrastructure planning and greater inter-state coordination under the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan.
The event was inaugurated by Nikhil Chakravarthi, Director of Industries and Export Commissioner, Government of Telangana. Senior officials from DPIIT and BISAG-N also attended.
Telangana informed participants that it is preparing a new State Logistics Policy, a State Integrated Logistics Master Plan, and City Logistics Plans for Hyderabad and Warangal. The state also highlighted progress on the Multi-Modal Logistics Park at Manoharabad. Telangana has been rated a High Performer among landlocked states in the LEADS assessment.
