Telangana CM urges ECI to extend deadline for voters to file objections

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has urged the Election Commission of India to extend the deadline for voters to file objections and complaints during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.

In a letter to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, the Chief Minister said there are no elections due in Telangana soon, and enough time should be given to complete the revision process properly. He asked that the current deadline of September 16 be extended by four weeks, and the final voter list publication date of October 19 also be revised. The CM asked for at least three to four weeks for submitting documents, more field officers, and help desks at the polling booth level, especially in urban areas.
