TDB signs agreement with private medical device company for AI-Powered cervical cancer screening

The Technology Development Board today signed an agreement with a private medical device company from Visakhapatnam for commercialisation of indigenous AI-Powered cervical cancer screening technology. The agreement will support the manufacturing and commercialization of GrivaVision, an indigenously developed, portable digital colposcope with AI-assisted capabilities for early detection of cervical pre-cancerous lesions. Through the Board’s support, the company will establish manufacturing capabilities at Kollam, Kerala, enabling commercial-scale production and wider deployment of the technology. The initiative seeks to make cervical cancer screening more accessible and affordable, particularly across primary and community healthcare settings. GrivaVision integrates a high-definition camera, an in-built display, user-friendly interface that assists gynaecologists in identifying pre-cancerous abnormalities during routine clinical examinations.
