BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh has been elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh. The returning officer handed over the official certificate of election after the declaration of results.
Mr. Chugh, a prominent Punjab face in the national structure of the BJP and a senior leader from Amritsar, is now expected to shoulder a dual responsibility of raising issues concerning Madhya Pradesh in Parliament and living up to the expectations of his home state Punjab as well.
