Tamil Nadu Govt forms medical health teams to monitor he spread of Dengue & H1N1 virus

Tamil Nadu has formed medical health teams to monitor the spread of Dengue and the H1N1 virus. Replying to the call for attention in the State Assembly today, Health Minister Dr K. G. Arunraj said that monitoring clusters of health workers will do door-to-door monitoring as part of awareness on dengue and also to curb the spread of the Aedes mosquitoes, which grow in stagnant rainwater in houses and other places. 
 
He said that seven people were reportedly dead due to dengue in the State. The Minister said that over 12 thousand were affected by dengue fever, but steps were being taken to prevent further spreading of the virus.  With regard to H1N1, the Minister said that senior citizens and pregnant women have to take enough precautions this season. The Minister said that concrete steps have been taken to eradicate the mosquitoes this season.
