The Tamil Nadu government has announced the Vetri Magalir Goat Rearing Scheme for the financial year 2026-27 to empower rural women. Under this welfare initiative, 30,000 rural women will be provided with goats under a 100 percent government subsidy. The scheme will be implemented with a total financial outlay of 109.75 crore rupees to promote sustainable livelihoods and economic independence in rural areas.
