Thousands flee wildfire on Greek island of Rhodes

A wildfire raging on the Greece island of Rhodes forced thousands of tourists and island residents to shelter in schools and indoor stadiums today after they were evacuated from coastal villages and resorts. Greek authorities said it was among the biggest evacuation operations the country had conducted. Thousands spent the night outdoors, tour operators cancelled flights departing for Rhodes.
