Heavy rains batter many places in Kerala; Met Department issues red alert in Idukki, Kannur

Heavy rains battered many places in Kerala causing damage to a few houses, uprooting of trees and leaving some low-lying areas flooded. Traffic was disrupted at some places due to the uprooting of trees and efforts are on to clear the roads. No loss of life has been reported so far.
