In Sikkim, the Department of State Education has announced that Sushma Tamang, a Post Graduate Teacher of Chemistry at PM SHRI Government Senior Secondary School in Dikling, has been selected for the prestigious National Teachers’ Award 2026.
According to the department, the selection was communicated by the Union Ministry of Education’s Department of School Education and Literacy. It said the honour is a matter of great pride for Sikkim and recognises Ms Tamang’s dedication and exemplary contribution to school education. The National Teachers’ Award 2026 will be presented to Sushma Tamang by the President in New Delhi on 5th September.
