The trial run for the tunnel route between Dyore and Hanogi on the Manali four-lane highway was successfully completed today. Preparations are now complete to open this crucial route to traffic within the next four days. The opening of the tunnel is expected to bring significant relief to motorists traveling towards Kullu-Manali, making the journey smoother and safer than before. The trial run was conducted in the presence of NHAI Board member Vipnesh Sharma.
This project, costing approximately ₹2,600 crore, comprises a total of 10 tunnels. Four tunnels have been constructed between Dyore and Hanogi, of which two will initially be opened to traffic; these measure approximately 2.8 kilometers and 650 meters in length. A bridge-approximately 45 meters high and 140 meters long-near Khotinala connects the tunnel sections.
