Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse today emphasised the need to expand opportunities for women across sports, from grassroots participation and coaching to high-performance competition and leadership.
The Minister was addressing the All-Women Coaches Course under the All India Tennis Association’s ACE 2032 initiative in New Delhi.
She stressed that India’s ambition to become a leading sporting nation depends on identifying talent early and ensuring that women and girls have access to qualified coaches, suitable infrastructure, regular competition and sustained support.
Ms Khadse highlighted that sporting talent exists across rural, tribal, semi-urban and urban communities. The Minister noted that expanding participation is vital to widening India’s talent pool and strengthening its prospects at national and international competitions.
She also emphasized that opportunities for women must extend beyond playing fields to coaching, sports science, administration, event management and other professional roles.
ACE 2032 initiative of the All India Tennis Association aims to strengthen links between coach education, talent identification and high-performance training. It is jointly supported by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the Sports Authority of India.
